On October 16-19 GWS and a few friends of GWS cycled the Man O’War trail in Pine Mountain, the Columbus riverwalk in Columbus, and the Calloway Gardens bike trail inside Calloway Gardens. We began cycling at 10 each day. The low Wednesday night was 37. It warmed during the day and was perfect for riding with friends.
The trails were all out and back and allowed riders to ride at their own pace.
Other activities included watching the moon rise from Dowdell’s Knob and viewing the Atlas comet in the western sky.
Participants on this trip were Margaret Clay, Bonnie Gehling, Joe Mangum, Curt Cole, Basil Youman, Trace Butler and Anne and Ben Thompson (Trip Leader). Friends of GWS were Neal and Lynn Nelson, Alex and Julie O’Neil, and Bob and Carol O’Neil.
A big shout out to everyone involved. It seemed to be a really good weekend. A special shout out to you, Curt, for joining the biking crew. You did great. Was good to see you.
